Saw it yesterday. Loved it. I liked they subverted a lot of expectations. every time I thought I knew where it was going it's went a different direction. Best Sw film since Empire for me.

*Late Post* Went in with no real expectations or fore-knowledge, absolutely hated it! Thought the writing was lazy and haphazard.
If you enjoyed it then I'm happy for you. But if you'll excuse me, I'm off to re-read Timothy Zahn's masterpiece trilogy...

Heh, Flamey has 666 posts ^_^
Forgot to weigh in here too. I've only seen the Last Jedi once, when it first came out. I liked it more than The Force Awakens, but less than Rogue One.
The Last Jedi was good, as Tal said in the way it played with expectations, I'm pretty sure everyone expected Admiral Dern (couldn't remember her Star Wars name...) would mess things up for everyone or/and turn out to be a bad guy. The whole casino planet thing I didn't hate as much as some, but yeah, it was a bit of a lull in an otherwise good star wars film. Glad Snoke bit the dust TBH, we've already done the Emporer, his whole existence as a character basically served to bring Rey and Ren close enough to consider allying with one another, would have been more interesting if they had! Luke's role was stellar, although Yoda's not so much, felt a bit ham fisted.
I am invested more now than when I left Force Awakens, look forward to seeing how they tie everything up.
...Blade Runner 2049 was the movie I liked most last year though...

No active MMO characters right now...
I remember when old Orix used to write game reviews, what happened to to him!?

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi [SPOILERS]
I liked it but had some reservations. Some things did not add up for me and it's possible I was expecting more since I really enjoyed Rogue One. I could tell how the story was going before the scene finished. The writing could have been better and some of the sequences could have been less predictable. Agree with some of flames arguments. Film did seem to bounce around a lot and trying too hard to fill all the gaps too fast and too thin before the next film.
I might just have to watch it a second time.. maybe it will explain some things I thought that didn't sit right with me.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi [SPOILERS]
It had Jedi nuns - I lol'd and had a good time with it. The franchise is for kids and I went in with that expectation. Super Leia - flying through space! I liked it
