New Member introductions (Please Read before posting)

Post by Kojack » Sun Sep 12, 2010 10:39 pm

Welcome to the Worlds Away forums, a European timezone MMORPG news, Guilds and Community site.

If you would like to join this community please send an email, titled Introduction, to the following address

newmember [AT] mmorpg [dot] org [dot] uk

Please include your email address, preferred user name, and a little introduction about yourself, your gaming past, present and future. Feel free to draw inspiration from the previous mad people who have found themselves marooned here after following The Call of the Sirens.
Once I have received the email I will set up the account for you and send you an email confirming your login details.
Once you can log in, make a few posts in the thread with an introduction about yourself and you should soon be able to post in most areas of the forum.

My apologies for making new members jump through so many hoops, but its my latest attempt at combatting the forum spammers.

Thanks for taking the time to look around, and hope to hear from you soon.

Worlds Away Admin.

Just bumping this.
Account activations are by default switched off. Even with all the spambot stuff, you still get 3 or 4 a day, sometime more.
This way we get no spam, and whilst it may put off the most innocent of bypassers, I think that if people really want to join the forum then I think Its a small step to take.
Which brings the question... are fora really needed these days. :P

(Used the correct plural of forum just in case Bram is ever lurking the forums.)
